PROFESSIONAL RESUME EXAMPLES
What a strong professional resume should show.
The best resumes make it easy to understand what you did, how well you did it, and why that experience matters for the next role. Use these examples as patterns, then replace them with your own truthful experience.

A useful summary establishes your experience level, strongest relevant abilities, and the value you bring to the target role in a few lines. Skip generic claims such as 'hard-working professional' unless the rest of the sentence proves something more specific.
Professional summary example
For a customer success role, a stronger summary might read: 'Customer success professional with experience managing client relationships, improving adoption, and partnering across sales and product teams. Skilled in onboarding, account strategy, renewal support, and turning customer feedback into action.' Adjust the wording to match your actual background and the job you want.
Achievement-focused experience
Stronger bullets explain an action and its result instead of listing only a duty.
- Basic: Responsible for customer accounts
- Stronger: Managed a portfolio of customer accounts while improving renewal performance
- With a verified metric: Managed 45 customer accounts and increased on-time renewals by 12%
- Never add a number, result, or responsibility that you cannot honestly support
Resume bullet examples by goal
The same experience can be framed around different kinds of value. A sales bullet might emphasize revenue or pipeline. An operations bullet might emphasize time saved, volume, cost, or accuracy. A customer-service bullet might emphasize response time, satisfaction, retention, or issue resolution. Choose the result that is both true and relevant to the target role.
Skills that support the target role
Prioritize skills you genuinely have that also appear in the job description. Grouping a few relevant skills is more useful than dumping every tool you have ever touched. Where possible, reinforce an important skill in an experience bullet so the recruiter sees evidence rather than just a keyword.
Choose a resume template for readability
A professional template should create hierarchy without making the reader hunt for information. CareerVellum includes multiple layouts so you can choose a style that fits your experience while keeping the summary, work history, skills, and education easy to scan.
