Projects become useful resume experience when you explain the problem, your contribution, the tools you used, and the outcome.

Include jobs even when they are not in your major

Retail, food service, recreation, campus jobs, and seasonal work can prove communication, accountability, customer service, cash handling, leadership, or time management. Frame the experience around transferable value without pretending it was something else.

Skills and campus involvement

Include software, languages, lab techniques, technical tools, leadership, clubs, athletics, or volunteer work when they support the role. A long list of unrelated clubs is less useful than a few experiences with clear responsibilities.

Tailor for internships versus full-time roles

Internships may place more weight on coursework, potential, and learning. Entry-level full-time roles may expect stronger evidence of applied skills. Adjust the order and detail for each posting while keeping every claim accurate.
